The Installation Holy Sasa - GFB was inspired by the local food culture of Indonesia. Wandering through the shelfs of colorful plastic kitchen wears and markets with single package units it dashed a strong contrast to the rich food culture of Indonesia. As an emblematic sign of how turbo capitalism has changed aesthetics and practices of daily life.
Producing your own food reflects the desire to counter the alienation that we experience every day in the supermarket: The products presented speak of appearance and superficiality, it is hardly possible for consumers to see through the production conditions and ingredients in a product. It seems to be an elementary human need to increasingly appropriate food production and thereby empower oneself.

[sic] Sasa = is a brand name for a Monosodium Glutamate product (MSG) in Indonesia, and is also considered the everyday name for it. Monosodium glutamates are synthetically produced in the industry as an additive, they occur naturally in fermented products such as cheese, salami, miso, wine, or in other words they are the flavour carrier of umami.
